A Dancing Debut
Her introduction to the entertainment environment however, had begun a few years prior, when she was crowned India Dance Champion, and thereafter winning several acting and choreography competitions before settling into a job as a radio jockey. She was incidentally one of the first radio jockeys for the very first Indian FM radio channel, where she hosted and produced 3 shows.
Herald! The Princess of Pop Arrives
Her combined ability to perform as a dancer and singer made her a instant favourite on the live circuit. she was delivering Breath taking performances in shows and concerts all over India and the media responded approvingly crowning her with the title Princess of Pop.

It was a heady time of glamour and celebrity status with crowds throngs venues to watch her perform. However, her quiet time was spent at an orphanage where her heart really is, to help in which way she can.
Hot Hot Hot Hotline
She was barely 16 when Hotline, India. first ever single, exploded on the Indian Music industry.
 
Anaida, the pop star, had arrived. Hotline success was followed by the highest selling debut album of its time Love Today Hai Nahi Asaan. It also happened to be Saroj Khan's first ever pop music video. India's Number one choreographer magnificently showcased Anaida versatile dancing talent. The album fetched her a nomination for best female vocalist for the song Dil Le Ley.
The Critics go Oova Oova
Her next album Nazuk Nazuk featuring the hit track Oova Oova became a rage all over the country. The video was an instant hit with viewers and this song fetched her second nomination for best female vocalist and also the viewers choice award. Nazuk Nazuk's second video was India first 3D Animated video and was nominated for best video.
Across the Language Barrier
She then released an English single featuring new versions of two old classics Fever and These Boots Are Made For Walking, gaining her appreciation from critics for her versatility and style.
A Princess turns into a DIVA
The same year saw her singing the title song DIVA at India first ever music awards ceremony the Diva awards. This performance which included her rendition of her single Fever was so exquisitely beautiful along with stylishly choreographed sequences that the press proclaimed it the best performance of the evening.Days later she was opening India first ever all India Ford Super Model contest with yet another performance of Fever, this time with a distinct difference in direction.
No Boundaries No More
It was time now to widen her horizons into the international arena. In collaboration with a Syrian composer she created India first original Arabic album. The song and video O Malu Malu was a runaway success with the party and club crowd, and surprisingly, equally well appreciated in India, despite the language barrier.
A Greek Inspiration titled ANAIDA
After successfully releasing music in three languages and attending BMG's worldwide conference as their highest selling artist in India, she was invited by Greek Composer/singer/ classical piani Stefanos Korkolis to sing a Duet on his album. He was so inspired by Anaida herself that he wrote a song titled Anaida. She sang the song with him in Greek, and also with additional Hindi lyrics. The song went Gold in Greece within the first few months of release. Anaida and Stefano's performed the song in front of live TV audiences on Greece ës most popular TV show at the time. She describes the song, the video and the entire experience as pure magic.
A Patriotic Celebration
For her adopted country, India, she released the first ever song to celebrate India's 50th independence year. Hum Sab Ek hai . The video featured India's top film stars including Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
Experimental Joys
Her experimental projects like Sambhal Ke, the video of which won MTV Best Video award and Raghu pati Raghav Raja Ram with a number of other artists promoting peace and harmony was also widely appreciated.
Roaring like a Lion what fun!!!
When Walt Disney decided to produce an Indian version of their popular song Hakuna Matata the animated film Lion king they chose Anaida to sing the duet with Baba Sehgal. The song, extremely popular with the kids also boasted Indias first cartoon video.
With Peter Andre on Stage
The same year saw her performing live at the channel V awards function with the heartthrob Peter Andre. Once again her versatility was in evidence as she demonstrated her ability to sing a fun song like Hakuna Matata in Hindi with the same ease and grace as she crooned the English ballad with Peter  Andre.
Fusion Fantastic
It was time for a change. Her next album saw her try a completely different, and at the time new, style of music. Chori Chori, a fusion of folk and pop saw Anaida in an extremely simple and earthy avatar. The video Oonchi neechi became one of the most popular songs and videos of its time. She followed it up with a second video Kaachi Kali which again saw her teaming up with the great Saroj Khan. Her fan following broke all age barriers as a result of this album.
Bollywood Croons
Anaida has lent her voice to a number of Hindi films including the introduction song of Preiti Zinta for the super hit film  Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, as well as English films like Bombay Boys and the track Black is Black for Dev Bengalis film.
Buddha Bar Adventure
Her song Quest was one of her most critically acclaimed songs. Totally different and truly international, it got her international offers. She followed it up with the single Good Day To Die in English. This song made her the first ever female artist out of India to be featured on the prestigious music compilation, Buddha Bar. Another international offer followed, She released her first English maxi single titled Quest in Greece, Portugal and a number of other European countries.
Linguistic Leaps
She has lent her voices to a number of south Indian movies, adding languages Tamil and Malayalam  to her list of releases.
Greatest Hits
The Greatest Hits of Anaida featuring the new track Piya Bina again saw her in a new light. The video was one of the most frequently requested videos on most music channels.
Beyond Performing
Anaida is perhaps the most accomplished female dancer and singer to grace the Indian Entertainment scene. Her captivating dance sequences and sensational singing tends to obscure the other facets of this incredibly versatile talent. Not many know that before she hit the limelight she was living off her paintings. To this day, nothingrelaxes her more than retreating into her imaginative creations with colors, her array of brushes and a canvas.

Another amazing talent is her poetry, intriguingly deep and insightful, often enriched by experiences and situations she or her near and dear ones are going through. Her natural understanding of human nature has seen her coming to the aid of many a friend going through a challenging season.

The depth of her involvement is clearly evident is her verses expressed with uniquely eloquent ease. In fact, her new Album NAYAA has songs taken from her poems.
